Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and IncreoScale (“we”, “us”) about your use of The Latest, the announcement-page service at thelatest.page. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
1. Your account
You need an account to publish. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, and you are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your sign-in method secure. You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live.
2. Your content stays yours
Everything you publish — text, images, the name and description of your page — remains yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, to serve it on your public page and RSS feed, and to keep backups. That permission ends when you remove the content or close your account, except for copies already cached by third parties or held in routine backups.
Anything you publish is public. Public pages are readable by anyone with the address and are designed to be indexed by search engines. Do not put anything on a published page that you would not want a stranger to read.
3. What you may not do
- Publish anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights
- Impersonate another person or organisation
- Distribute malware, or use a page to phish or defraud
- Send bulk unsolicited messages, or use pages primarily to manipulate search rankings
- Interfere with the service, or try to access data that is not yours
If a page breaks these rules we may suspend or remove it. Where we can, we will tell you why first.
4. Plans and payment
The Latest has a free plan and a paid plan. Payments are processed by Polar, who act as merchant of record — your card details go to Polar and never reach us. Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel; when you cancel, the period you have already paid for runs to its end and no further renewal happens. Prices may change, but not for a period you have already paid for; we will give notice before a change takes effect.
If you downgrade or your payment lapses, your pages stay online and your content stays intact — the paid features simply stop applying.
5. Availability
We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise a particular level of uptime. Maintenance, upstream provider failures and outright outages happen. We may change or discontinue features; if we discontinue the service as a whole, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your content.
6. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service at any time. Deleting your account from your account settings takes your pages down and removes your content — it cannot be undone. If you are on a paid plan, cancel the subscription first; you can delete the account once the period you have paid for has ended. We may end the agreement if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we are required to by law.
7. No warranty, and limits on liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that matter to you we will give notice before they take effect, and continuing to use the service after that date means you accept them.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court. If a clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
